If you’ve been part of our practice for a while, you may have noticed that Cherokee Family Orthodontics is now Crown Family Orthodontics. While our name has changed, I want to personally reassure you that the heart of our practice remains exactly the same.

In fact, this change is really about becoming more of who we’ve always wanted to be.

Why the Change?

When Katherine and I started the practice, we knew we wanted to create something that reflected our vision for orthodontics—not just straight teeth, but caring for people in a way that helps them feel known, valued, and encouraged.

Over the past few years, we’ve been blessed to serve so many incredible families, and our mission has become clearer than ever:

We want every person who walks through our doors to know that they are valuable and that their life has purpose.

As our practice continued to grow, we also found that our previous name often caused confusion. There are several practices in our area with very similar names, and patients were occasionally unsure which office they were trying to reach.

Changing our name gave us the opportunity to choose something that is both distinctive and deeply meaningful to us.

Why “Crown”?

Our name comes from the idea that every person has inherent worth. Psalm 8 describes humanity as being “crowned with glory and honor.” Whether someone shares our faith or not, we believe this is a beautiful picture of the value every individual possesses.

Every child.
Every teenager.
Every adult.

Every person deserves to be treated with kindness, dignity, and genuine care.

That belief shapes every decision we make—from the way we welcome patients into our office, to the time we spend answering questions, to the little details that make each visit feel personal.

More Than Straight Teeth

Orthodontics certainly changes smiles.

But we’ve found that a confident smile often changes much more than that.

It gives people confidence to laugh more freely, speak more confidently, smile in family photos, interview for a new job, meet new friends, or simply feel comfortable being themselves.

That’s why our practice slogan is:

“Let Your Soul Shine.”

To us, a smile is more than aligned teeth—it’s one of the ways each person’s unique personality shines into the world.

Helping someone smile confidently is one small way we get to help that happen.

What Isn’t Changing

Although our name is different, everything you’ve come to expect from us remains the same.

You’ll still see the same friendly team.

You’ll still receive the same personalized orthodontic care.

You’ll still find Winston greeting patients, favorite songs playing during appointments, and a team committed to making every visit something to look forward to.

Most importantly, our commitment to caring for your family has not changed.
